The Annual Partido por la Paz - "Match For Peace" takes place in Chile and was inaugurated on December 29, 2007 in Viña del Mar in the Vina Del Mar Stadium, which played host to the 1962 World Cup Finals.
One of the teams featured in our annual Partido por la Paz is selected by the people of Chile through a weekly vote in the National Newspaper 'La Cuarta' and on their official website, www.lacuarta.cl every Monday, commencing 3 months prior to the match.
The "Peoples Team" is announced at a press conference 10 days prior to the game. The Peoples Team play against an All Star Team selected by SIFUP and FIFPro.
The Gol Iluminado Foundation annually provides thousands of tickets to under privileged children in the area and Futbol Masters provides a clinic for 500 local children.
Participating players visit the Van Buren Hospital Children’s Center. Proceeds from the event and activities assist to implement and sustain our GOL ILUMINADO Football For Peace "Legacy Projects" in Chile.
